Progressive Arts Alliance announced today that it has changed its name to Arts Impact, as the organization prepares to celebrate its 20-year anniversary in 2022.
“We are proud of the difference we have made in students’ lives through the years by offering them a path to self-expression and unique ways of learning,” said Clyde Miles, Board President for Arts Impact. “Going forward, we can make an even stronger impact with the new brand that better reflects our work.”
While the name has changed, the organization is committed to the same mission: bringing learning to life through art. Since its founding in 2002, Arts Impact programs have positively impacted more than 35,000 students. The arts impact:
- HEARTS by encouraging us to understand, empathize and heal
- MINDS by helping us learn and grow
- LIVES by developing creative thinkers, problem solvers and lifelong learners
“Our entire team, from administrative staff to artist-educators and board members, are re-invigorated by this new name and branding update,” said Rick Grahovac, Executive Director for Arts Impact. “As we enter this exciting new phase of our development, it’s imperative that our brand reflects our true mission. We’re proud of our nearly 20-year history, and this name change reflects our bold vision to impact the hearts, minds and ultimately entire lives of the children and youth we work with each day.”
Arts Impact offers arts integration residencies and arts enrichment programming, developed and taught by professional artist-educators. The organization partners with schools and local non-profits to spark creativity, explore hands-on learning, and increase student engagement. Research has shown that arts provide powerful avenues to learning and can greatly improve academic outcomes in other areas of the curriculum, outside of the arts.
Arts Impact recently completed a strategic plan which outlines exciting new goals for the next three years. The name change is just the beginning of an exciting future to increase student engagement, demonstrate the impact of the organization’s work, and strengthen it by emphasizing its commitment to racial equity.
